Annual 30-for-30 Fundraiser for the Dogs!

Saturday, 23rd June
3 men and a dog

James Pregnell, who will be joined by colleagues Gabriel Gnavi and Jeremy Thornett, will walk 30 kilometres with 30 of our dogs in a bid to raise much needed funds to help us continue our rescue and re-homing work. This is the sixth time we’ve held this annual fundraiser and the support we receive each year is amazing and helps us to rescue and care for many hundreds of dogs throughout the rest of the year.

James, Gabriel and Jeremy are absolutely committed to completing the marathon walk with the objective of raising thousands of dollars for our refuge, which will then be submitted for matched giving to their generous employer BHP Billiton, which has been an amazing supporter of ours for many years now.
Indeed, the support we receive from BHP Billiton is one of the main reasons we are still able to keep on rescuing the many dozens of dogs that need our help, every month of the year.

And because we don’t receive any government funding, the generosity and the enthusiasm of our wonderful donors, in addition to our loyal supporters at BHP Billiton, make all the difference to our ability to save the lives of so many beautiful animals.

So we urge you to please support James, Gabriel and Jeremy. Thank you in advance for any donation you can make - and rest assured that your generosity will go towards rescuing more abandoned, neglected and homeless dogs in Perth.

Every year, we are pleased to welcome a team of volunteers from BHP Billiton Iron Ore who complete a gruelling task to raise money for the dogs.  The challenge is walking 30 dogs for 30 kilometres.  A circuit of around 3km is mapped out around the Refuge in Shenton Park.  Supporters are welcome to come and cheer the walkers on and participate in festivities on the day.

This is a great tax time appeal as all donations over $2 are fully tax deductible.

  • This is a great cause. Thank you to the guys and to BHP, the dogs need you all. Being a regular donator and boarding facility user we all need to appreciate just how much work goes into the care of these beautiful animals. I have a, now, 13 year old expat from the refuge who was 8mths old when I got him. Plus a few more wayward friends from across the road and elsewhere. Please everyone, think of a rescue animal first when in need of a four legged friend.

  • Well done guys, and thanks to BHP for matching every dollar. More companies need to contribute to the community in this way. Have a fantastic time and good luck with the fundraising for this brilliant organisation.

  • Yes - the event is one that people can attend. The BHP boys would love to see everyone down there to support them!

It is being held at the Refuge in Lemnos Street from 9.00am onwards. There will be a BBQ on from around 10.30am too.
