My name is James Pregnell and for the last five years I have participated in what has become known as the ‘30 for 30 Challenge’. Together with two colleagues from BHP Billiton, we will walk 30 of the Refuge’s dogs for 30 minutes each, over a total distance of 30 kilometres.
We created this special event to help raise much-needed funds for the daily care for the Refuge’s abandoned and homeless dogs. Because I work for BHP Billiton, I’m very fortunate that my generous employer will consider matching any funds I raise dollar for dollar, up to a total of $50,000 through the BHP Billiton Matched Giving Program.
This year I will be accompanied for the 3rd time by my colleague Jeremy Thornett and for the first time by John Maravillas. As John will find out it’s not an easy challenge but knowing the difference we can make is what makes it easier – however we need your help!
We’ll be pounding the pavements from 9.00am on Saturday 29th June. I will be doing my absolute best to raise as much money for the Dogs’ Home as possible – 30km is a long way but it’s worth every step knowing what a wonderful cause we are supporting.
Thank you in advance for supporting us and helping the special dogs at the Dogs’ Refuge Home!
