Adorable senior dog Uggs is loving his new forever home!

"I believe every adoption is special. My daughter and I visited the Dogs' Refuge Home in October, looking for adopting a small breed senior dog. My daughter found Uggs. Apparently, he was thin and had a blocked tear glands with his face heavily stained. Uggs was quiet and closely watching us and sniffed our hands. There was also a small breed senior dog living next to Uggs' kennel. But my daughter insisted to meet Uggs.

We were told that he had heart murmur and required lifetime medication. This news struck me because I have a similar medical issue. I instantly developed compassion for him. I know that most people want a healthy dog, Uggs would probably wait last in the adoption line. And my daughter liked him because he is small, quiet, friendly and well-behaved at the time we met him. Uggs met with our kitten and he passed the test. We happily brought him home.
I took him to the vet and had a throughout examination a few days later. Other than the heart murmur and joint stiffness, he is a fine dog. After he had 4 doses arthritis injection, he is jumping and running like a winner, given his age is already 10 years old.

He loves to carry his favourite toy chicken in his mouth and walked proudly with his head up high every time he goes to the park. This dog has certainly regained his confident in himself. Uggs is our dear family member. We love him so much and we can't thank enough to the Dogs' Refuge Home for all the love, patient and hard work you put in helping these dogs to find a new home. Please continue the good work in years to come. "

  • What a lucky boy he is. We adopted Ringo only yesterday, he seems to be settling in with our 7 year old Maltesse Cross. I admire all the staff and volunteers for their hard work and caring nature.
