Bear & Sox - the dynamic duo!

Hello. We just thought we would send you a little update on how we are doing. I (Bear) spent some time at the dog’s refuge in August 2010 until I was picked up by my new mum and dad – Alex and Emma. Six months later they took me back up to try and meet a new friend – life can get pretty boring on your own. After 5 meets and greets in February 2011, we chose Hazel (or did she choose us? – whichever it was, we both had to go and have a bath before the refuge helpers would let us go home!).

Bear & Sox

We decided to change Hazel’s name to Sox – so much more fitting (just look at her front paws) and easy for her to learn. Sox and I very quickly became the best of friends and are now totally inseparable and go everywhere together – even to the vets, and most of the time we go everywhere with mum and dad – except to work.  We are the best of play mates and regularly can be seen chasing each other around our local park or on the beach – oh and in the house of course. Sox was very thin when we adopted her but lots of love and attention has helped her to blossom into a lovely little girl.

Sox and I have been known to get into the odd scrape together and can often be mischievous – I know our help in the garden isn’t always looked favourably on, and our attempted trip into town together earlier this week was frowned upon, but generally we are very good. We hate getting into trouble so try very hard not to, although Sox sometimes cannot help herself. Still, life would be tedious for mum and dad if we were good all of the time wouldn’t it?

  • I remember 'Sox' very well - such a lovely girl, and enjoy seeing them coming back to the refuge for their holidays. An awesome pair of dogs, so glad they found such an amazing home :-)

  • It is always lovely to hear how the ex refuge dogs have settled in their forever homes. Bear and Sox have definitely struck lucky.
