Darcey proves why rescue is best

After losing our much loved old girl Molly, who was 17 years old, we decided to get our other girl 15 year old, Rhani a companion.

My youngest daughter and I went to Shenton Park with a dog in mind but that soon changed when we spotted Mr Darcey.  He felt right and I knew he would be a part of our family for a long time.  After a month or two we soon learned his not so desirable behaviours and after some doggy training classes, we taught him what was right and wrong.

At first he didn't like our cat Milly very much but the cat realised that he was just a playful puppy wanting to play with her, although he was a bit rough, she stood up to him and they have been bestfriends since.  Darcey goes on holdiays with us, sleeps with us, goes to the dog groomers every three months and is one of the family.

I am so glad we decided to get a rescue dog, he has had a chance to find a great home.  I would love to get another dog as Rhani passed away not long after we got Darcey, but I need to convince my husband what a great idea this will be.
