I wanted to let you see how Dugald has taken to his new home.

Dugald

He has only been for one walk on the lead, so far, and there were no problems. He is scheduled to start a socialisation programme with Lauren from Get Dogged who has a bitch of her own that is about the same age & size, so they will meet for playtime in the local park. Most of the obedience classes on your list are some distance away, but there is a group in Winthrop run by a lady with a degree in animal behaviour which is a bit more expensive but will suit Dugald's humans a bit better.

He has not had a physical meeting with the cat, yet - they have been quiet through the glass, though. Nevertheless, I feel that the small effort required to keep them safe is worthwhile and don't plan to bring them together yet.

Thank you for providing this little boy,

  • Hello all,
Well poor old Dugaldie Dog ran into a few problems with the controlled biting which was actually much more than mouthing and was a) breaking skin, b) associated with powerful lunges & c) unresponsive to cease commands. Despite his sweet nature & being so good inside, outdoors was actually becoming threatening. Well he was too good in every other way, so enter NERI from DOG WHISPERING. She has been fantastic. After 1 session, he\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\'s in control, occasional reversions but always stops on command. After 2 sessions, control away from home. It\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\'s probably a testamony to his cleverness as well as her competence, but for Dugald, she has literally been a life saver because the question that was arising was: is he an unsafe dog? There\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\'s no longer any suggestion of that. He has to take things gradually but that sweet inside dog is now lying on his back for tummy rubs outside as well. Thank you Neri.
