Harold's new life...the first installment

Posted by Nerilie Watson on 1 March 2011 | 7 Comments

For months I have been intending to email you with a story of Harold. I have some great photos of him - a couple are attached. The story is mostly written and I will send it in soon.

In the meantime,  I can tell you that I am totally in love with him. He is well loved by my friends and family who also pay him lots of attention although his focus is always on me….its quite lovely! He is a real smooch and a very chilled out happy boy who is so much fun J  I love his ‘soft’ eyes, his smell and his beautiful nature – he always wants to please to which he is richly rewarded with tummy rubs, neck scratches, cuddles and treats. His favourite place to play is the beach and the river, his favourite toy is his ball and he gets a throw and fetch game every morning without fail.

His health is fantastic. Just before Christmas I took him to the vet to get his pavo and worm shots and the vet commented on what a fit and healthy specimen he is. I told the vet that was largely due to the good care he received at the refugeJ He weighs 20.5 kilos of pure muscle! I plan to take him to some training very soon. Whilst he’s very well behaved there is always room for improvement but it’s more for me learning to understand him.

Watch this space, my story will come soon.

Please send Harold’s love to everybody and reassure them he is a very contented boy. Please also thank them for asking after him J

  • I love Harold.

I loved tucking him into bed at night but hated leaving him there. Hope he makes does well at positive reinforcement training.

Be happy Harold you made it beautiful ♥
