On a rainy and windy Saturday at the end of June, James Pregnell from BHP Billiton Iron ore completed our doggie marathon and in the process helped to raise over $50,000 for our refuge, which will be matched by his employer.

James walked 30 of our dogs for 30km and what’s more, he never slowed down once – even when the heavens opened. We couldn’t be more grateful for his commitment and thanks to our amazing supporter base, and the generous public donations which James encouraged, we surpassed our goal of $50,000.
The reality is that we cannot survive without the support of the public and thanks to James and BHP Billiton Iron Ore, $50,000 of donations will now become $100,000. This money will go towards the daily care of our precious dogs and our rebuilding appeal.
James even brought along some supporters from BHP Billiton Iron Ore and one of them fell in love with and adopted Honey Bear one of our precious little dogs - pictured here with James.
Despite the terrible weather it was a hugely successful day and the support of our loyal volunteers was amazing (as always). In fact everyone at the refuge agrees that such days make everything we do worthwhile, especially when some of our precious dogs find perfect homes!
A big thank you to everyone involved and to everyone who donated much-needed funds.
good on you James...
I'm proud to be your cousin...
