Jessie proves age is no barrier

My boyfriend Dan and I adopted Jessie on the 28th May, and we are so in love with her!  We were told that Jessie was a farm dog and had been in the Refuge since February. She is so lovely and gentle and sweet, and has settled into life with us so quickly and easily.

We initially were looking for a younger dog, but the great staff there at Shenton suggested that Jessie would suit us better (she is 8 years old) and they couldn't have been more right. She is perfect for us :-)

Jessie loves playing with my mum's labrador Lucy, who is in one of the photos attached. She also loves lazing around in front of the heater on her bed – it’s quickly become her favourite spot in the house.

Thank you again to all the great staff and volunteers at Shenton who do such a great job, and who helped us find the new member of our family who has made us so very happy.

  • Thanks for giving Jessie a new loving home, she must be so over the moon with happiness.
I think the older dogs are just so appreciative!

  • Hi Nicky, it was so lovely to read that Jessie has a wonderful new home. My fiance and I had Jessie on an over night stay in April, when I was volunteering at the refuge and she was such a good girl, so affecionate and kind and we really hoped that she would find a lovely new home really soon...we are in the UK at the moment and it is lovely to be able to keep in touch and hear such wonderful stories...thank you for making Jessie so happy.
