Kirsty Sterle is one committed volunteer at the Refuge - not only does she regularly walk dogs (along with her aunt), she's always happy to help out when needed. Now, Kirsty is going the extra mile to help raise up to $4,000 for our dogs by challenging herself to the solo 19.7km Rotto Swim on the 23rd February.

Sponsor Kirsty now!

Kirsty has been swimming since she was 8 years old, and has only recently taken up open water competition. This will be her second solo crossing - however this year, she will be doing it for the dogs! Her first solo Rotto crossing took her just under 6.5 hours (which we think is incredible!) but she is hoping to beat this time for the much loved dogs in the Refuge.

A volunteer at the Refuge for over a year now, Kirsty has been walking and bathing dogs, as well as fostering the much more difficult residents, including Pebbles, who she will be adopting this week after some very hard work and love over the last 6 months. She will definitely be thinking about her throughout the swim to take her mind off the sharks.

Kirsty has also managed to obtain sponsorship from Ansko's Muesli and Emporium Protection Services - a very special thank you to both of these organisations for their support!

  • Great cause and very generous with your time Kirsty. The team at Computing Australia have donated $50 to the swim.
