Matilda has brought such joy

Sending in Matilda's progress report! So we've had Matilda for about nearly 3 weeks now (we decided to keep Matilda because its a beautiful name and she responds to it) and she has brought so much joy to our lives. When we first got Matilda she did not know what toys were and did not know what to do with them. In a short amount of time she has now become comfortable with us and has recently picked up a few items on her own and played with them herself.

Matilda does suffer from separation anxiety and this was quite dramatic in the early days but has since calmed down alot and hopefully in due time she will be use to the fact that we go to work every morning but will come home! We have had a dog trainer come through to help us help her and teach her some obedience training too.

For the first time today we took Matilda to the dog park this morning and to our surprise she was right in her element. Matilda has such a gentle nature that makes her very sociable with other dogs and loves playing with other dogs around her size, running laps around the oval with the new friends she has made. We were so confident in how she was behaving we even let her off the lead.....that was the best thing we have done since getting her. Without her lead she roamed around meeting new dogs, having fun and they must whisper to each other or something because she knew exactly where to go get a drink and straight after she comes running right back. We took her again in the afternoon and by the time she got home she was absolutely knackered! Had her dinner and went straight to bed (she has 3 beds! 1 mansion of a kennel which she is not interested in, 1 day bed outside and 1 night bed which she lays on inside).

Matilda sleeps like a log through the night and snores LOUDLY,

Attached are a few of the hundreds of photos we have taken of her (Matilda does not like the camera so most photos are taken when she is sleeping or from a distance!)

Photo 1) This is Quynh's favourite photo of Matilda. She loves Brian alot so even when she sleeps she wanted to be near Brian's mattress!

Photo 2) Matilda playing with her toys all by herself on her day bed enjoying the sun

We hope to get Matilda a new friend in the household too so hopefully that wont be too far off.

Wishing everybody at the dog refuge a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year, keep up the tremendous work!

See you guys again soon....

Love Brian & Quynh
