Chevy & Paco

Chevy DOB - AUG 2012 | Male | Staffy x Mastiff

Paco DOB - OCT 2014 | Male | Small Mixed breed

Meet the old couple! Chevy is a 4 year old staffy x Mastiff and Paco is a 2 year old small bitsa who was saved from a minesite up North. Chevy is not dog social but when Paco accidentally escaped into the during an overnight foster, they clicked and have been together on foster for many months. Due to changed circumstances the foster family has had to bring them back.

Even thought they are together they have very different needs. We think keeping them together benefits them both, especially Chevy who can suffer separation anxiety when left alone.

Chevy needs very committed and experienced owners to manage his dog reactivity and continue his socialisation training. Paco would benefit from developing his manners but is generally easy going.

Ideally they need a home with a large open backyard to roam and play. For Chevy this would mean not in a built up area with dogs either side or dogs to be encountered on daily walks.

They love and play with each other which seems to be enough for Chevy so they are not the kind of boys to take to the beach or dog park.

Both love humans but would be best in a home with much older children who are dog savvy or adults. We'd welcome enquiries to discuss these two and hope they might capture the heart and interest of a new family soon.

Mindy - In Foster

DOB - MAY 2012 | Female | Staffy X

Hey I am Mindy. I am so in love with you humans that I do not like to be left alone and need someone that will do ongoing training with me and love me for who I am. I am very affectionate and a true best friend to those I adore. I am looking for someone that will have me inside the home with them and that has the time to do ongoing training with me. I am a very special girl that deserves a perfect home where I will feel safe and loved.

MY ENERGY LEVEL: Mindy will require approx. 2 x 30 minute walks daily but should not be walked until she forms a bond with her new owner. She has got anxiety and is currently on medication to assist her with training, for this reason she must go to someone that works no more than part time hours and will ideally be home at the beginning to gradually leave her for longer.

MY SUITABILITY TO CHILDREN: Dog savvy kids that are older or an adult only home.

MY SUITABILITY TO CATS & DOGS: Reactive. Undergoing training and will need owners committed to continuing this.

Harry - In Foster

DOB - AUG 2010 | Male | Kelpie x Heeler

Harry is quite fearful and not has not had the easiest start in life. He is looking for experienced owners that will allow him adjust to new surroundings in his own time and make him feel at ease. It would be best he goes to a calm family with older children so his new home will make him feel nice and safe. When Harry trusts you he is a beautiful affectionate boy who will just relax beside you loving all the attention he is getting. When his fear takes over he does tend to bark, but he is easily distracted or will calm when brought inside the home. This boy is one that truly deserves the next home to be his last. Harry may suit owners that work only part time hours so they are there to help him during the settling in period.

MY ENERGY LEVEL: I will require approx 2 x 30 minute walks daily.

MY SUITABILITY TO CHILDREN: I would suit children 10+.

MY SUITABILITY TO CATS & DOGS: Possible pending meet. Harry can be choosy about his dog friends.

He will need an active household who can give him lots of time and commitment to help him on his journey. He needs to be included as a part of the household. Jack can be excitable but will still melt when lapping up all your affection. He is extremely smart and is sure to learn new things quickly. In the right Jack is sure to make a loving addition.

MY ENERGY LEVEL Jack will require approximately 2 x 45 minute walks daily. He will need lots of mental enrichment such as being fed from kongs, toys to chew on / play with ans well as training. Hazel - In Foster

DOB - Est 8-10 years | Female | Heeler X

Hazel is estimated at 9 years and was left in a local pound. Unfortunately she has been diagnosed with health issues that may limit her longevity but are not causing her pain. We will discuss and make these clear to her future owner. She has a very sweet and loving nature, will need to be the only dog in the home and ideally requires a home with a retired person, part time worker or stay at home parent - not for separation anxiety but just for regular company.

Her lovely foster carers Michael and Joan report she is a friendly, obedient dog who loves short walks, human company and playing with the ball.

If you are in a position to make a compassionate adoption and show this girl some love and support we know she will reward you with love and loyalty for as long as she can.

Please call the office or come in to discuss Hazel. She is in foster so not onsite but a meeting will be arranged following the adoption process. We are seeking an adoption but would also consider a long term foster.

MY ENERGY LEVEL: Short daily walk - does like chasing her ball still!

MY SUITABILITY TO CHILDREN: Not recommended due to expected shortened lifespan but she is friendly so could be considered.

MY SUITABILITY TO CATS & DOGS: Hazel is choosy with doggy friends and is best suited as an only dog home.

Martha

DOB - OCT 2006 | Female | Staffy X

Martha is a lovely older girl who is awaiting a nice quiet home where she can relax and form a strong bond with her new owners. She has good manners, basic obedience and would make a great companion inside the home whilst enjoying her daily strolls. Martha may need a bit of time to settle in and relax with her new family but if you are patient with her she comes around quickly. She will make an ideal companion for a loving home where she can soak up the sun and receive lots of love.

MY ENERGY LEVEL: Martha will require approximately 30-45 mins of exercise daily. She walks well on lead but new owners will need to be mindful of her age and how much exercise she can handle especially in the summer.

MY SUITABILITY TO CHILDREN: Martha may suit a home with older dog savvy teens only. She is cautious of new people initially and will need older children who can give her space as required.

MY SUITABILITY TO CATS & DOGS: Likes her own space and was not keen on interactions.

I must admit I have an addiction to tennis balls, I cannot get enough and I will hound you to throw one for me if it is around. I am also a tennis ball detector and if there is one in a yard then I will find it! My dream home would be one where I am inside with you but also have my very own yard full of tennis balls to play in during the day. Could you provide me with that?
