Last weekend, our two favourite BHP Billiton Iron Ore employees, James Pregnell and Gabriel Gnavi, took to the pavement for another 30/30 Challenge in the hope of raising $100,000 for the Refuge. And, despite this target being a huge ask - they did it!

What can we say about our boy Axel? Everyone at the Dogs’ Refuge Home knows him and we are, quite frankly, too used to seeing him around. It is best to leave your pet at home while running errands in your car during the summer months. Dogs with short snouts such as Pugs, Bulldogs, Rottweilers, or Pekingese have a harder time staying cool.

Martha Allen, one of our volunteers, decided running the City to Surf would be an ideal way to get fit and raise funds for our dogs at the same time. When Martha first started her training in January she couldn't run more than 1km without stopping but she was determined to complete the 21km half marathon.

Holly needs a Home!

Holly was one of the most nervous dogs we'd ever seen when she arrived at our home over 12 months ago. For the first few months she just sat in her kennel, shaking and avoiding eye contact with staff and volunteers.
