"In November 2014 we lost our beloved dog Tui. Totally unexpected he was 6 years old. We were both devastated and totally heartbroken. He was our third dog and losing them became too much for me to handle. We decided not to get another dog, Tui would be our last. Did not want to have to go through the heartache of loving them and then losing them. Over the next few weeks I found the emptiness of not having a dog to spend time with too much. We decided a solution would be to foster a dog.
"My husband an I adopted Evie on 19/12/2015 and we just wanted to give you a quick update on how she is doing.
We decided to keep the name Evie as we 'fell in love with the girl named Evie'.
Adorable senior dog Uggs is loving his new forever home!
"Lolly" was adopted two-years ago and is now known as Molly!
"Five years ago this week, I came to the Refuge looking to adopt a dog. I have always had family dogs growing up but had been living out of home for a while and it had been 12 months since my childhood jack russel passed away. I was working across the road at Cat Haven so it seemed the logical place to go to adopt. I came in with no preconceived ideas whatsoever of what I was looking for.
Casper (German shepherd x) was adopted from us by a lovely family two years ago, and is doing great!
Opal (now Tui) has been living with her new family for a while now and they think she is the most perfect little dog. She loves playing with her tennis balls (probably her favorite thing ever), and sleeping in the bed with her new parents... even under the blankets! She gets along great with her new homes cats, and even plays with one of them. Her new mum says they really couldn't of asked for anyone better and want to thank everyone at the Dogs' Refuge Home for everything they do.
Rex (previously Juddie) had his Birthday this week! It has been 1 year since he was adopted by his new mum and dad.
