After five years of incessant begging and pleading, my mother and father finally agreed to get me a dog. My ex-babysitter, Sally, and I went to the Shenton Park Dog Refuge every weekend for over two months. Finally, after a lot of searching we found and brought home Brian on 2 December 2009.
My husband and I adopted Cian (now called Banjo) almost two weeks ago.
Just letting you know, for those who knew Faith, (surrendered with her mum Tessa) that she is doing wonderfully well, now living in her new country of New Zealand. :) Attached are some of her enjoying the beach just 1 minute down the road!
Meet Maxwell - our resident gamer who loves play time, almost as much as dinner time! Maxwell is a 7 year old cattle dog cross who loves a game of tug-o-war and anything involving balls really. Once he's comfortable with you, he's a very engaging dog who enjoys human interaction and can even be a bit of a smoocher.
Timmy the Jack Russell cross came home with us 3 weeks ago and he would like to say this:
Lucky (aka Billie) has been living with us for 4 months.
It was a night of rock 'n roll and Wheels & Dollbaby at the Cops and Slobbers party to celebrate the 75th anniversary of the Dogs' Refuge Home - with over 200 people joining in the celebrations at the iconic Fremantle Prison.
I adopted Samson earlier this year and just wanted to thank you so much for looking after him until he could come and live with me. I have attached some pictures for you so you can see how well he is doing.
We rescued Archie (Corgi x) approximately 2 months ago. He must have been on his best behaviour and trying to impress on the first week as he was the best behaved dog I have ever seen. Since then he is still generally well behaved but has gotten more comfortable in his new home and pushed the boundaries a few times.
To celebrate the milestone of 75 years, the Refuge partnered with the City of Subiaco to compile a book of success stories over the years. This fantatistic book, From our home to yours, is being officially launched on Wednesday, 20 October and we'd love for you to come and join us.
