Haroo to the wonderful team at Dogs' Refuge Home.

Pia

Just thought I should let you know that the girls and I have decided to change my name to "Pia". Much more chic and I answer to it already.

I am settling in well and enjoying the new resort lifestyle and I am behaving particularly well for the new family. I feel no compulsion to bark unless the visitors are unwelcome and have already worked out who is who. As a result I am hardly ever jumping up and not grabbing them by the arm as I did at first. There is lots of different spaces for me to run around in and plenty of things to do so I don't get bored either.

The old silverback who runs the place is a soft touch and I am training him well - I just do what the other girls here do and quietly whimper a bit and look at him with big googly eyes and he gives in just like that.  It is a good thing that I was trained on the lead before I got here because it has surprised and impressed the new family and particularly the silverback. After 3 days at the resort I put on such a sad face when he was off on his morning speed walk and jog that he got out the lead and took me with him and I heeled, waited at the cross streets and jogged perfectly with him across the park. I took it easy on him because he is getting on a bit - he has already turned 8. I think he will take me with him every morning if I keep up the good behaviour.

The girls spoil me too and I get a lot of attention from them since I convinced them that they have taught me how to drop, sit and heel during my afternoon sessions with them. I have started watching TV with the family and quite like the cop shows. I missed Red Dog on Channel 2 the other night but they have it on DVD so I will watch it soon. I am feeling happy and relaxed and want to thank you for rescuing me, nursing me back to health and hooking me up with these animal lovers. You guys are lifesavers and this is the life! Check out my pics attached.

Warmest regards,

Pia

P.S. That Cat-Waiver thing didn't work - I can't get the cat to wave to me at all and she runs away whenever I speak to her. Felines - who will ever understand them?
