Rainbow enjoys the quiet life

Firstly, I am now legally blind so please excuse the strange effort to write of Rainbow, who has been my devoted companion for nearly a year.  Rainbow and I had 5 months of sharing my car and having trips out.  Molecular degeneration has come suddenly but we are learning to cope.

Rainbow

Rainbow, I take across to the park twice each day to run if she wants to but is not known to leave me for long.  It has been a very companionable year as Rainbow is my sole companion and we love one another.  Outings in my car came to an abrupt end but we have a few rides out with neighbours.  Rainbow is very good and is made a fuss of by all who meet her.

She had over heated blood and has been on cortisone tablets just recently which has stopped the scratching.

She is mostly indoors with me although we wander in and out to the grassed back garden.  She continues to sleep on my large bed at night-looking so appealing with her head on a pillow and her lags wrapped comfortably up.  I tell her “mummy loves her” and I do!

With her green collar and matching lead, Rainbow walks so sedately on my left side.   We still share my 4x2 house here in Port Kennedy- Rainbow is alert to any fold approaching the front door but I have few visitors so we talk to each other and any regular folk coming to clean etc, make a fuss or Rainbow.

The evaporative cooler keeps us cool in these warm days.  Rainbow eats a small breakfast and has her main meal at 5pm.

My general health is good so I hope and pray Rainbow and I continue our rather quiet-but happy-life together. A beautiful happy dog, she is loved and cared for with exercise, food and love.  She has a bounding time when its play time.  Licks to my face when sometimes she becomes excited about something or other.  I steady her onto my legs and stroke her back and head.

A truly lovely dog and I’m grateful for her.

Sincerely Mary Thomkins..
