Rachael worked at the Dogs’ Refuge Home for 10years until 2005. She was a passionate dog lover and loved her time working at our Home and taking numerous dogs home on foster.

Rachel

We are so sad to hear of Rachael's passing, she was a huge animal lover and very much dedicated to the refuge dogs. She has left us far too early and our thoughts go out to her family and friends.

One of our team remembers Rachael well...

I remember that Rachel just loved the dogs, she struck me as really dedicated and I remember her racing around the refuge, caring for them all. I recall one conversation with her in particular when I was collecting a foster dog who was really stressed. I asked her advice about whether it confused the dog even more to be fostered, and enter into yet another unfamiliar environment. I remember she told me that dogs  live in the moment and that the girl I was collecting would thrive in a calm home. She was right and her comment has stayed with me, dogs really do live in the here and now and perhaps that is something we humans could learn from.”

We need as many dog lovers as we can in this world and are very sad to lose such a passionate one at such a very young age.
