Sirus shows he's all class

In April 2009 I decided to make a trip to the refuge to have a look to see if there were any Boxers available. While walking through bricks I came across this beautiful looking dog sitting up against the gate with great blue eyes looking at me.  Granted he was not a boxer but at this point I was sold!

Sirus (previously Sirius) joined our family in May of 2009. He was very anxious at the time and I spent a few training sessions with Trevor to learn about how to build his confidence and make the transition into the family as easy as possible using Positive Reinforcment.

The first 2 weeks I took off work so that I could spend time helping with the adjustment and bonding with Sirus. He was my shadow everywhere and I realised I had adopted a most beautiful soul! It was at this point I decided to join the refuge as a volunteer as well. I occasionally took Sirus along to socialise with refuge dogs to help out.

It has been now 2 years since I adopted him and he has improved in leaps and bounds. He is happy to go up to people no problems to say hi and even gives them cuddles and kisses. I am always getting questions of what breed he is, since Koolie’s are not really that well known, but anyone that meets him falls in love just as I did the first time I saw him. He truly is the most amazing dog, who has been there for me countless times. He is super intelligent and has done both the Tricks Class and now agility through Paw Prints Pet Training. With the help of Georgia and Trevor I have been able to turn an amazing dog into a super dog, and Sirus is extremely fond of them!

I would like to say a big thankyou to Emma from the refuge for all the help adopting Sirus.

  • Sirus is such an unusual and lovely looking dog. I wondered what breed he was also.
It is so good knowing he has such a good home.

  • I love rehoming beautiful dogs where they go on to thrive as inside dogs, exercised and trained using practices that never involve scaring or harming dogs.

I'm happy he is having an awesome quality of life. That is what my job is about.

He is a very lovely boy is the Sigh man!
