Spuddles shows his social side

We adopted Spud late September and just wanted to let you know how he's doing.

Katelyn, Rhiannan and Spud

Obviously, he's very well loved and has had to put up with being terribly spoilt! Our two girls can't wait to get home from school so they can play with their "Spuddles" and take him for walks.  He is a pleasure to socialise and has made many friends down at the local parks, both two and four legged!

Spud has developed a very protective streak which even extends to our cats. He is learning to sit at the roadside kerb, heel, stay, drop and we're all working very hard on coming when called!  Spud has been to pick up the girls from school and is getting used to the excitement that his presence brings. Lots of little people all wanting to pat him can be a bit overwhelming but he has risen to the challenge beautifully with a happy smile on his face and a wag of his tail. He has taken Katelyn to ballet, been visiting in Mandurah and has brought smiles to many, many faces.

He's developed a fondness for shoes, but only to lie on or carry around (no chewing!), so we figure he must be missing whoever he's 'wearing' at the time. He has become very close friends with our orange cat Garfy, and is 'tolerated' (as are we humans) by our black cat, Shadow.

Spud is a joy to have and it's a great pleasure to see a little more of his personality every day as he becomes more and more confident that he's found himself a permanent home and a family to love him.

We'll keep you up to date with Spud's adventures.
