Every year thousands of dogs are left abandoned, lost and unwanted in WA pounds or surrendered by owners who are unable or unwilling to provide for them.
As a self-funded organisation, the Home relies solely on the generosity of the community to sustain our operations. Bequests given by animal lovers in their Will have long been a vital source of funding for us and have been the only way to maintain and upgrade our ageing facilities and build new accommodation to support the dogs who come into our care.
Any gift left in your Will is gratefully received and will be put to good use. We treat the dogs who come into our care like our own and provide all the support including vet and behavioural care they need to find a loving new home
You can remember the Dogs’ Refuge Home in your Wil by: donating a specific monetary amount; a gift of specific property; or by a share of your residuary estate. The residuary estate is the balance of your estate after expenses and other gifts.
We can also make arrangements to care for or re-home your pet dog in the event that you pass away.
Our legal name and address to be included in Wills is:
“The Dogs Refuge Home (WA) Inc of 30 Lemnos Street, Shenton Park, Western Australia”
Wills are legal documents and we recommend that advice be obtained from your solicitor, Public Trustee or other professional will maker.
If you would like to know more about our work and how a gift in your Will could help the Home long into the future, please contact our General Manager on 9381 8166 to arrange a tour of the Home.
