Andrew will need an experienced or at least knowledgeable dog owner who can make a commitment to his Training and socialisation. Appropriate dogs and people need to be selected ongoing whilst he is socially maturing over next 2-3 years building off rewarding experiences. When he is older and has learned to cope alone for short periods initially longer days may be ok but do not recommend for full time workers. Lots of toys and enrichment to ensure he is kept occupied and preventing problem behaviours from boredom over time will establish a good routine. Andrew will need to be taken to Puppy classes ASAP so he can begin to socialise, learn manners and gain new rewarding experiences in a controlled, clean environment. This should be followed up by basic obedience classes as the view of a qualified trainer will be an integral part of this boy’s development. A bit of a timid pup – care needs to be taken to ensure he is not becoming overwhelmed whilst learning new things and socialising. Positive / reward based / gentle training methods will greatly assist with this.
