"Five years ago this week, I came to the Refuge looking to adopt a dog. I have always had family dogs growing up but had been living out of home for a while and it had been 12 months since my childhood jack russel passed away. I was working across the road at Cat Haven so it seemed the logical place to go to adopt. I came in with no preconceived ideas whatsoever of what I was looking for.
Casper (German shepherd x) was adopted from us by a lovely family two years ago, and is doing great!
A year ago today Monique adopted a little old dog named 'Shelia' (now Niccle).
This year the Tate Family Foundation will once again match up to $25 000 in donations raised during the 'In The Dog House' fundraiser. This gives even more of a great reason for our supporters to make a donation! Last year Jarrad went into the kennels and he had so much fun that he has agreed to participate again this Christmas. Now that's what we call commitment!
Opal (now Tui) has been living with her new family for a while now and they think she is the most perfect little dog. She loves playing with her tennis balls (probably her favorite thing ever), and sleeping in the bed with her new parents... even under the blankets! She gets along great with her new homes cats, and even plays with one of them. Her new mum says they really couldn't of asked for anyone better and want to thank everyone at the Dogs' Refuge Home for everything they do.
Rex (previously Juddie) had his Birthday this week! It has been 1 year since he was adopted by his new mum and dad.
