Meet Zeus
Meet Zeus, a gentle, affectionate boy looking for a comfy home where he can spend his days being loved and thoroughly spoiled. ❤️
Zeus is a pretty easy-going guy who enjoys affection, leisurely sniffy walks and spending time with his people. He appears to have lived a fairly limited, backyard life previously, so he’s now looking for a family who will welcome him inside and show him just how good life as a cherished family dog can be!
Zeus prefers the quieter side of doggy social life and would be happiest avoiding busy dog parks and overly busy areas. He may enjoy having a few calm and polite dog friends, but would be perfectly content as your one and only.
Dog-savvy children **10+** may be suitable pending meets, and fit older people comfortable handling a solid, strong boy could also be a lovely match.
Zeus’ skin and coat need a little extra TLC at the moment, and he’ll need a family committed to continuing his veterinary care and recommended fish-based diet while we get him feeling his best.
Initially, Zeus would love someone home more often while he settles into his new life, with alone time gradually introduced. In return, you’ll get a sweet, loving boy who deserves to spend the rest of his life knowing just how adored he is. ❤️
How our Adoption Process Works
Step 1) Preparation
Read our Adoption Philosophy and make sure your views on dog ownership align with ours. Please read this entire page to make sure you are ready for adoption day.
Step 2) APPLY
Browse available dogs online, review our dog sociability matrix and then complete an adoption questionnaire.
Step 3) ADOPTION
7 DAYS A WEEK: Walk ins welcome for adoption interviews between 11am-3pm! Our gates remain open until 4pm, but we conclude our adoption interviews at 3pm so we have time to take the dogs out, feed them and get them ready for bedtime.
During quieter periods, we will also do our best to review online applications, but unfortunately cannot get back to every applicant, especially for more ‘popular’ dogs. If you agree with our adoption philosophies and are ready to adopt- please do not wait for us to contact you after submitting a questionnaire.
PUPPIES & DOGS IN FOSTER CARE: If you are particularly interested in a young puppy or a dog that is currently in foster care, please indicate this on your questionnaire. Young puppies will not be on site here at the Refuge as it is much more beneficial for them to remain in foster care until their adoption. For dogs and puppies that are not on site, we will review online applications and get in touch with suitable homes to arrange a meet and greet.
