If you’re looking for a goofy, fun-loving best friend, Bear could be the perfect match!
At just 10 months old, Bear is a happy, curious pup who loves being part of the action. Whether it’s walks, adventures, or relaxing with his family, he’s happiest when he’s included. Bear is a smart, eager-to-learn boy who will thrive with a family committed to continuing his positive, reward-based training. Like any young dog, he has plenty of energy and will need daily exercise, mental enrichment, and lots of opportunities to learn and explore.

Bear has previously lived with children and could join a home with kids aged 10 years and older, pending a successful meet. As he’s still young and bouncy, older children are the best fit. Bear also loves other dogs and would enjoy regular opportunities to socialise through on-lead walks and safe off-lead playdates to continue building his confidence and social skills.

Bear is looking for an active family who will embrace his playful nature, invest in his training, and include him in their everyday adventures. In return, he’ll reward you with loyal companionship, plenty of laughs, and endless goofy charm.

How our Adoption Process Works

Step 1) Preparation

Read our Adoption Philosophy and make sure your views on dog ownership align with ours. Please read this entire page to make sure you are ready for adoption day.

Step 2) APPLY

Browse available dogs online, review our dog sociability matrix and then complete an adoption questionnaire.

Step 3) ADOPTION

7 DAYS A WEEK: Walk ins welcome for adoption interviews between 11am-3pm! Our gates remain open until 4pm, but we conclude our adoption interviews at 3pm so we have time to take the dogs out, feed them and get them ready for bedtime.

During quieter periods, we will also do our best to review online applications, but unfortunately cannot get back to every applicant, especially for more ‘popular’ dogs. If you agree with our adoption philosophies and are ready to adopt- please do not wait for us to contact you after submitting a questionnaire.

PUPPIES & DOGS IN FOSTER CARE: If you are particularly interested in a young puppy or a dog that is currently in foster care, please indicate this on your questionnaire. Young puppies will not be on site here at the Refuge as it is much more beneficial for them to remain in foster care until their adoption. For dogs and puppies that are not on site, we will review online applications and get in touch with suitable homes to arrange a meet and greet.

Our dogs are ready to meet you!
