Pokey is a sweet and gentle young Chihuahua who is still learning about the big wide world. Coming from a rural background with limited exposure to everyday life, she can be a little shy at first, but once she feels safe her affectionate and playful puppy personality quickly shines through.
In foster care Pokey has shown how loving she can be with the people she trusts. She enjoys playing with her toys, exploring the yard and curling up close to her favourite people once she feels comfortable.
Pokey is still learning many of the basics of home life and will need a family who is happy to guide her as she builds confidence. This includes toilet training, learning how to walk on lead and slowly introducing her to new environments at a pace she can handle.
A calm and predictable home will help Pokey thrive. She would suit a household with teens 16+, Pokey would also highly benefit from living with a suitably matched doggy brother to lean on for support and guidance.
With patience, gentle encouragement and positive training, Pokey has all the potential to blossom into an active, fun-loving and devoted little companion. 🐾

Our website updates the availability of our dogs in real time. There is a chance that while you are travelling to the Home to meet a particular dog, he or she may be involved in the adoption process or already adopted. You can phone ahead to enquire about a dog you are interested in between the hours of 11am and 4pm but we cannot place dogs on hold over the phone.
