We rely on the wonderful support from our sponsors to survive. We are incredibly grateful to them and consider ourselves extremely fortunate to have the support of the following organisations.
City Farmers generously partner with us by providing treats, toys, beds, coats and ongoing support which makes the lives of our dogs better in every way. We could not be more grateful for all that they do. And they continue to support us in other ways too. For example, every time a new City Farmers store is launched, we are invited to join in the fun with a sausage sizzle, all the proceeds from which go to the Home. We very much encourage you to support the organisations which support us. So please visit your local City Farmers store – the four legged friend in your life will probably thank you too! | The Government of Western Australia is a significant contributor to the welfare of Dogs’ Refuge Home of WA. Its annual contribution helps us to rescue and re-home Perth’s lost and abandoned dogs, and promote responsible pet ownership throughout Western Australia. | The Dogs’ Refuge Home is one of hundreds of community organisation’s who have benefited from the generous grants program offered by Lotterywest. In 2012 the Home received a grant to review and upgrade our entire IT system which included software development and purchasing much needed new hardware and equipment. In 2015 the Home received a transformational grant from Lotterywest that enabled us to build an amazing new Administration & Education Centre. This building has improved the experience for the public, staff and volunteers of the Home and made a significant difference to our operations. |
Dr Greg Wilkison of Subiaco Veterinary Hospital has been supporting the Home with professional, affordable and high quality vet care for more than 10 years. Greg and his caring team visit the Home weekly to perform minor surgeries and health checks and help support our in-house clinic team. All dogs who arrive into the Home’s care have a pre-entry medical and temperament check at Subiaco Vets before admission. Dr Greg has helped increase the viability of the Home by offering significantly reduced vet care and advising on matters of dog intake and welfare. | This wonderful, dog loving family first began their support for us many years ago by donating a couple of industrial dryers. Since then they have supported us through business relationships with our Master Rebuilding Project helping us to engage cost-effective and like-minded suppliers. Tate Family Foundation have also become a major sponsor of our “In the Doghouse” appeal, held in December each year. The Foundation has for many years offered matched donations to the value of $25,000 with Foundation Director Jarrad Tate also fundraising for the event by spending a day behind bars! We are incredibly grateful for everything they’ve done for us and so lucky to have their support. | Award winning pet photographer, Alex Cearns from Houndstooth Studio has supported the Home over many years offering high quality pro bono photography that helps showcase our dogs and our Home. Alex has featured our dogs in her best-selling books and has supported us with numerous fundraising events and prizes for our annual quiz night. Alex is probably most well-known for “Santa Paws”. Held at the beginning of December, more than 100 dogs visit the Home to have their photo taken with Santa. Alex donates 100% of the proceeds from the day to support our dogs. Alex also shoots the photography for our sell-out Christmas cards. We are very grateful for Alex’s ongoing support and generosity. |
Ruth Simpson from Shine Communications has been volunteering for the Dogs’ Refuge Home for more than 15 years. Her PR skills are second to none and we are exceptionally lucky to have her as part of our fundraising and promotions team. We’ve been in state and local papers; we’ve been interviewed on most of the radio stations in Perth and we’ve even made it on to TV – all thanks to her hard work and dedication. If you think you’ve been seeing more media stories about the Home recently, well that’s all thanks to Ruth.
Tonic Digital have provided 3 years of free Google Ads Management to the Refuge totalling an enormous $260,000. Thanks to the expertise of the team, we always stay top of the search results meaning more people see our beautiful pooches. We are so grateful for their support. Tonic works for socially responsible organisations who want to understand their market, create new clients, build long-term relationships – and use the power of digital to do it.

We can’t thank the team at Williams & Hughes enough for their ongoing support over the years. Special thanks to board member and Secretary, Chris Osborn who assists us each month with our legal needs. Thanks also to Tully Carmady who represents us during mediation sessions when Legacy’s left to us are contested. Without Corporate support like this, our legal expenses would take away from us being able to provide all the care we do for our dogs.
Herbert Smith Freehills have been generously providing pro-bono legal advice to our Home on all Human Resource matters since 2019. We are incredibly fortunate to have the support of WA’s leading HR law firm and we are very grateful to their amazing team. Whenever we reach out, our calls are answered quickly, and it gives us tremendous peace of mind knowing their skills and expertise are available to us. We can’t thank the team at Freehills enough and are always impressed by their professional response and generosity of time. |
